Dress Code

Academic Attire for Students 

All LBUSD K-8 schools require that students follow a uniform clothes policy. Please read our guidelines so that you will be fully aware of what is and is not acceptable in student dress at MacArthur Elementary School. Students are expected to be dressed in the appropriate uniform daily. MacArthur's uniform policy will be strictly enforced!  

MacArthur School Uniform
Tops:
  • Collared shirts ~ solid red, white or navy and MacArthur Spirit t-shirts
  • Long or short sleeves
  • No strapless, spaghetti straps, off the shoulder, low-cut, or tank tops
  • No sheer or see through material
  • Shirts under collared shirt must be white
Bottoms:
  • Khaki, navy blue, or dark denim pants, shorts, skirts, or jumpers
  • Pants may not be made of sweatshirt material (no sweats), nylon, lace, sheer, or athletic mesh (no basketball shorts)
  • No leggings, yoga pants or spandex like materials. Black/white leggings may be worn under appropriate length dress or skirt
  • Pants should fit well around the waist
  • No light denim or ripped jeans allowed
Outerwear:

  • Outerwear such as sweatshirts, sweaters and jackets must be red, white or blue in color

  • Outerwear that is not school colors may be worn only when it is raining or very cold, if that garment is designed to keep an individual warm and/or dry during such weather.

  • Logos must be small, only 1/4 size allowed

Footwear:

  • Shoes must be closed toe and worn with socks to provide support during activities for PE and recess
  • No sandals, heels, Crocs or plastic shoes allowed - this is a safety hazard
